The National Parks Service will unveil a campaign in New York City on Thursday that aims to raise support and awareness of ‘America’s best idea’ – the national parks. The campaign, entitled ‘Find Your Park’, seeks to generate interest in the parks, which officials say are suffering from lagging attendance and needed repairs. This is the third such push in the parks’ history – in 1916 the National Parks Service was established to repair failing park infrastructure, and a ten-year plan was rolled out in the 1950s to modernize the parks for automobile travel.
