Over 100 staff at Windsor Castle could strike over pay. The Public and Commercial Services union claims that the staff have had their pay frozen for years and are often asked to undertake additional duties such as translating and guiding members of the public without additional payment. New recruits at Windsor Castle can earn as little as £14,400 a year. The Royal Collection Trust, the charity responsible for the Queen’s official residencies, says staff wages are in line with government guidelines, and that pay includes a pension and free lunch.
