Tourists in such cities as New York, Boston or Philadelphia over the coming weeks are in for a treat with major exhibitions opening  in the main art museums.

Both local and international art lovers will flock as such shows as Boston’s Leonardo da Vinci and the Idea of Beauty, Philadelphia’s Discovering the Impressionists and the more off-beat Big Apple offerings of the Bjork retrospective and Yoko One – One Woman Show, both staged at  the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

The Miami Herald reports that the one thing all visitors should remember is to book in advance to avoid facing long queues and highlight that they should check for special discounts as well as free admission days.

Next month, MoMA presents an exhibition on the work of Yoko Ono. This exhibit, Yoko Ono: One Woman Show, 1960-1971, includes up to 125 of the artist’s early objects, audio recordings, works on paper, installations and films. It opens on May 17 and continues until September.

The Bjork exhibit is already on display at MoMA. It looks at the 20-year career of the singer, songwriter and composer by using sound, film, visuals, instruments, objects, and costumes. The good news is that entry to her exhibit is included with general museum admission.
