After four days of fierce fighting, Isis have been pushed back from the ancient site of Palmyra in Syria. There were fears that the militants would access and destroy the world heritage listed ruins as they did in the ancient Iraqi cities of Nimrud and Hatra. However, officials have confirmed the city is now safe after Isis fighters were forced to retreat. Read more: bbc.co.uk
