Instagram user @dailyoverview took over Lonely Planet’s Instagram this week, posting aerial photos from around the world. A photo of Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia, shows the moat around the temple at the centre.
Graffiti artists the world over have been painting walls and public spaces in the French tricolour in solidarity with the French people following last week’s terrorist attacks. The hashtag #SprayForParis has been gaining momentum on Twitter, revealing beautiful homages to the city and the victims of the 13 November attacks.
One week after terrorist attacks in Paris, residents are trying to return to normality in the French capital. The French Defence Ministry announced that there are currently 10,000 soldiers deployed in France as part of security measures put in place in the wake of the attacks, including 6500 in the Paris region.
The Hyde Park Winter Wonderland opened in London, bringing with it ice sculptures, skating, circus performances and more.
Crowds gathered in the streets to take part in the Style Mile Christmas Carnival in St Enoch Square, Glasgow, which marks the launch of the festive shopping season.
