A performance artist in China is using a vacuum-cleaner to draw awareness to Beijing’s smog problem.

Wang Renzheng, better known as Nut Brother, has spent 100 days walking the streets of Beijing and sucking up the air with his vacuum. The city’s air pollution this week soared to more than 40 times the amount deemed safe by the World Health Organisation. Nut Brother has collected enough fine particle dust to make a ‘smog brick’, and his presence on the streets of Beijing over the past three months has drawn considerable attention on the Chinese internet.
