The roughly 8000 items on display at the Museo del Oro (Gold Museum) in Bogota, Colombia constitute just one-seventh of the treasures possessed by the organisation – the rest is tucked away inside the museum’s vaults.

Archaeologist Juan Pablo Quintero, who has worked at the museum for almost six years, said it’s impossible to know the whole collection and that each time a drawer is opened, something new is discovered. The museum’s complete collection, housed at the main site in the capital and at six satellite locations around the country, totals more than 54,000 items. Read more: laht.com
