One month in advance, travellers can now book high-speed rail tickets for the busy Lunar New Year period in Taiwan.

The Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year or Spring Festival, is among the busiest times of year for travel in Taiwan, as families return home for the holidays. In 2016, the Lunar New Year period falls from 4-15 February. Hundreds of additional high-speed rail services will be added to accommodate the ancitipated additional travellers. Bookings for high-speed rail tickets during this period opened on 8 January, while tickets for regular East Coast services will be available on 19 January and West Coast services on 20 January. Travellers can book tickets online at railway.gov.tw or at stations around Taiwan. Read more: chinapost.com.tw
