Arctic Winter Games inaugurated in Greenland

The 2016 Arctic Winter Games are officially underway, after the opening ceremony took place on Sunday night in Nuuk, Greenland.

The ceremony saw performers from around Greenland present indigenous music and dance, as well as more modern genres such as rock and rap. The inauguration brought together the hundreds of athletes from Arctic nations who will take part in the week-long Games, competing in events such as skiing, biathlon and wrestling.
