Start your summer right with a massive inflatable unicorn boat

If you spent last summer scrolling through Instagram and envying everyone floating in the pool on inflatable swans, donuts and pizza slices, get a head start this year by ordering a massive unicorn pool float that can fit six people.

Unlike a tiny little inflatable that you can only enjoy on your own, the massive “Party Bird Island” will let you pack your friends onto your own floating party boat. While the unicorn is great for anyone who loves a good rainbow, there’s also a giant peacock and flamingo on offer too. Since they are actually too big to be practical in most pools, this is something that’s better to bring along for a holiday on a lake. The massive inflatables have seats where you can post up and relax without leaving the water, and even have cup holders and a built-in-cooler so you don’t have to make constant trips back to shore.

The item is for sale at Sam’s Club, a membership-only wholesaler owned by Walmart and based in the US. The floating unicorn costs only US$150 (€121) – but is currently out of stock online, so those desperate for one may have to wait.

Pool toys for adults have become hugely popular in recent years. In fact, last year, Hotels.com and Hipotels Gran Playa de Palma in Mallorca, Spain even created an “inflatable sanctuary” where guests could borrow a pool toy and not have to worry about leaving it behind when they head home. At that time, Hotels.com stated that research found that British travellers’ favourite inflatable pool toy was the donut. But, they anticipated that next year – meaning 2018 – they’d most want to get an inflatable dragon. So, perhaps it’s time to start waiting for someone to create a massive inflatable dragon and get the best of both worlds.
