Dublin visitors can take in a yoga class on top of the city’s iconic Croke Park sports stadium

If you’re visiting Dublin and want an exercise high while taking in a panoramic view of the city and surrounding bay and mountains, new morning yoga classes at the Croke Park sports stadium may be the answer. The limited-edition yoga classes take place on the Ericsson Skyline, 17 storeys above the city, which is Croke Park’s rooftop walkway and Dublin’s highest open viewing platform.

The adults-only classes will run every Saturday at 10am for five weeks from 5 May, and will be given by qualified yoga and pilates teacher, Aisling Conn. Aisling has been practising yoga for almost 20 years, and her approach is inspired by the styles of Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga. The sky-high sessions will be intimate, with no more than 15 participants, and will last for approximately one hour and 15 minutes.  They are suitable for all levels and cost €25 ($30.95) per session. A fresh, healthy juice after the classes in the GAA Museum’s Blackthorn Café is included.

Croke Park is the headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association, which focuses primarily on promoting indigenous games, include the traditional Irish sports of hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, Gaelic handball and rounders. The association also promotes Irish music and dance and the Irish language. Skyline has an overhang right over the famous pitch, so it’s definitely one for thrill-seekers. When not playing host to the downward-facing dog, lotus or crane poses, the walkway hosts exciting alternative guided tours of Dublin city, giving insights into Dublin’s celebrated landmarks and history from this unique height over the city.
