A travelling exhibition coordinated by Unesco, called ‘Imagining the Balkans: Identities and Memory in the long 19th century’, is currently on show at the National Historical Museum in Athens. Before Greece, the exhibition was staged in Slovenia, Serbia, Romania and Macedonia. The project traces the history of the Balkans and showcases its cultural heritage through the collaboration of history museums from across southeastern Europe. Its goal is to promote dialogue and creativity in the region. The exhibition will leave Athens on 19 April to continue its tour through the countries of southeastern Europe. Read more: unesco.org
