In celebration of Hinamatsuri – also known as the ‘Girls Day’ festival – Japan Airlines operated an all-women flight yesterday. The pilot, attendants and the maintenance workers were all female for the morning service between Tokyo and Nagasaki. Pilot Ari Fuji was the first woman to become a certified captain in Japan, where 0.6% of pilots working for the country’s major carriers are women. Read more: nhk.or.jp
