Visually impaired travellers will be able to travel with a guide dog on trains in China starting on the first of May. The China Railway Corporation announced new rules that will allow service dogs to travel on national railways. Travellers must alert station staff to the dog’s presence when buying tickets or by ringing up to 12 hours in advance. Upon arriving in the station, the passenger must present paperwork certifying the dog is a licensed serviced dog. Beijing also plans to begin allowing guide dogs on the city’s subway starting in May.
