Mount Rinjani National Park on the Indonesian island of Lombok, near Bali, has been temporarily closed until the first of April to allow its ecosystem to recover following damage caused by storms and irresponsible hikers, the latter blamed for cutting down small trees to make room for campsites. A popular multi-day hike, Indonesia’s second-highest mountain saw 60,000 hikers between April 2014 and January 2015. Read more: thejakartapost.com
