Every station on the Taipei metro network could get its own individual theme song. The city’s mayor has launched an initiative to create individualised ‘soundscapes’ to be played in each metro station, apparently to easily alert travellers to which station they’ve reached. If employed, the soundscapes would be individually suited to each station, as well as unique sounds for tasks within the stations, such as frogs singing when a metro card is swiped or ukulele strumming as an alert for the train’s closing doors.
