A cable car linking Penang’s historic capital of Georgetown to the mainland town of Butterworth in just 15 minutes is expected to be operational in approximately three years. The proposed system is part of a massive project, which also includes a light rail system connecting Penang’s airport with Georgetown, to ease growing congestion on the island situated on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
