Spring has arrived in Shanghai, where the city’s Plum Blossom Festival opened today.

The annual festival is held every March at Haiwan Forest Park in Shanghai’s southern suburbs. The park 40,000 plum trees are expected to peak with flowers between mid-February and the end of March. In addition to blossom-viewing, the festival will feature a photo contest, art exhibitions, flower arranging displays and a citizen’s garden, where locals are encouraged to sponsor or plant a tree. Festival admission costs ¥80 (US$12.25) and free buses will transport festival-goers from Shendu Highway metro station to Haiwan Forest Park. Read more: shanghaidaily.com
