Rent the lavish Malibu beach house from Big Little Lies

If you’re a fan of Disney’s Hannah Montana or HBO’s Big Little Lies, you can pretend you’re in your own hit TV series by staying at the gorgeous beachfront home in Malibu that features in both programmes.

In Big Little Lies, Reese Witherspoon’s character, Madeline Martha Mackenzie, lives in the house, which for the purpose of the series is located in Monterey. The interior is also used for filming although modifications are made to the decor to suit the series.

The house was also lived in by the family of Hannah Montana lead character Miley Stewart, played by Miley Cyrus, although the interior shots were filmed on a separate set created for the show. It also featured in Dick Van Dyke’s Diagnosis Murder, and is available to rent.

The lavish 6000-square-foot house sleeps 12 and has seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms. It is set on an 80-foot stretch of beach, and has a separate 950-square-foot guest house. There is a private deck with an outdoor fireplace, and the master bedroom has a deck with a jacuzzi.

It also has separate his-and-hers bathrooms with a steam shower and deep-soaking tub, and there are his-and-hers walk-in closets. The chef’s kitchen with a breakfast bar opens to a spacious dining area with an ocean view, and has three ovens, two dishwashers and professional grade Viking appliances.

Guests can also dine al fresco on the deck or barbecue in the private backyard beach area, which has a beachfront hot tub. There is also a room for a staff member with a separate entrance, and a wine cellar and a fully-stocked pantry.

On the entertainment front, there’s a flat screen TV in every room, a surround-sound entertainment system, a full house music system and DVD/CD player. A maid and butler service is also available if required, as well as a private chef, yoga instructor and babysitter.
