Security is being increased at train stations across Mumbai following intelligence reports of an impending attack on the railway network by Pakistani militants. As the financial capital of India, Mumbai has been repeatedly targetted by Islamist militants, many linked to the separatist movement in Kashmir. Tensions in India are already high following the release on bail of the militant leader who planned a series of deadly attacks on tourist sites in Mumbai in 2008, allegedly with support from Pakistan’s intelligence agency.
