The Bank of Canada has issued a special appeal to Star Trek fans – please stop defacing our $5 bills.

In a tribute to the late Leonard Nimoy, fans, taken with the resemblance between the actor and former Canadian Prime Minister, Sir Wilfred Laurier, have been ‘Spocking’ the note.

Notes are being adapted to show Spock’s pointy ears,trademark eyebrows, a Star trek badge and the famous motto: Live long and prosper.
