A mysterious underground tunnel has been found near Toronto’s Rexall Centre, future site of the 2015 Pan Am Games. The tunnel is described as 2.5m in height and seven metres long, with reinforced walls and ceiling and generator-powered lights. Officials aren’t sure what the tunnel was used for, but national security officials were notified due to the tunnel’s proximity to the Games. Authorities have ruled out possibilities that the tunnel was used for a drug lab or growing operation, but it likely took weeks to dig, and the dirt was removed from the tunnel in order to avoid detection.
