If you’re a fan of quirky documentary and film-maker, Louis Theroux, and enjoy tearing up the dancefloor, you may be interested in a club tour that is launching tonight, 9 March, in his honour.
Theroux is best known for his documentary series, including Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends, When Louis Met…, and his BBC Two specials. After its debut at the O2 Academy Islington in London tonight, the ‘We Gotta Get Theroux This’ tour will then make its way across a number of UK cities and towns, ending up in Cardiff’s Clwb Ifor Bach on 1 May. It will take in Leeds, Cambridge, Swansea, Bath, Manchester, Exeter, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Ipswich, Liverpool, Bristol, Southampton, Sheffield and Leamington along the way.
If they go to the club nights in his honour, Louis’s legions of fans can look forward to visuals of favourite Theroux clips, club classics, an exclusive Louis Theroux t-shirt and other branded giveaways. There is a Facebook page dedicated to the tour, and the description of the event reads: “We all know Louis Theroux is the ultimate bae, so here at Louis Theroux Appreciation Tour HQ, we have put together a club night dedicated to the man himself!”
The tour is the latest in a line of club nights themed around cult British documentary figures. Previous ones included Blue Planet star David Attenborough’s Jungle Boogie. Whether Louis Theroux himself will show up at any of the club nights is unknown, but judging by the witty tweet he put out commenting on the poster, he is certainly aware of it.
Tickets are on sale now, priced at £5 (USD $6.92). You can purchase them here.
