The first images from a new hotel in Macau – possibly the worlds most luxurious – have now been released, and its opulent rooms as set to come with marble bathtubs, private elevators and 24-hour butler service.

To complement the Baroque setting, Mr. Hung created, together with leading artisans, a glittering series of faceted chrome furniture for the living room, bedroom and bathroom.

The hotel, which will be named The 13, was first announced in 2013 and will “arguably be the most luxurious hotel ever built, expected to open in late summer 2016 at a cost of over US$7 million per room”, according to a news release.

To ensure the ultimate in privacy, all guests access their villas via elevators which open directly into the villa’s private elevator lobby, like a New York style penthouse.

The hotel will only have suites – or villas – and released the photos of what it describes as its “entry-level accommodations”. Of the 200 villas, most are a ‘Villa de Comte’ with a floor area of 2,000-square-feet, while 31 will be larger, with the biggest being the 30,000-square-foot ‘Villa de Stephen’.

6-8 guests can relax in the Villa du Comte’s ornate marble Roman Bath beautifully presented under a vaulted baroque ceiling supported by neo-classical columns and lit by a spectacular crystal chandelier. When not in use, the Roman Bath is covered by a retractable marble floor.

The Villa de Comte is a split-level, one-bedroom villa with a private elevator lobby that opens directly in the villa like a New York-style penthouse and a 24-hour butler service “ trained by world famous MCM Palace Consultants and certified by the English Guild of Butlers”.

The villa bedroom features a king-size, velvet-canopied bed with an elaborately carved and gilded Baroque headboard in the royal tradition.

The villas will feature a Roman bath – large enough for six to eight guests – under a vaulted baroque ceiling supported by neo-classical columns and lit by a crystal chandelier. When the bath is not in use it will be covered by a retractable marble floor. The rooms will feature king-size beds, with velvet canopies and a carved and gilded Baroque headboard.

All hotel guests will able to travel to and from their accommodation in chauffeured Rolls-Royce Phantoms.

The décor of Villa du Comte combines spectacular floor to ceiling baroque details and period artworks contrasted with surprising modern elements woven together through exceptional craftsmanship to create an environment of unparalleled romance, elegance and luxury.

The project is backed by Chinese billionaire Stephen Hung, who serves as co-chairman of the hotel company. “Thirteen is my lucky number and the new name along with the new logo fit perfectly with my vision,” said Hung in a news release. “There is a hint of tradition while also suggesting a chic and fun edginess.”The Special Administration Region of Macau is often called the “Vegas of the East” and is the only place in China where gambling is legal.
